Good morning. We are working our way to Hilo on the big island of Hawaii. This isn’t the last port day, but it is the last Hawaii port day. The towel animal takeover is normally done with small towel animals. Today they have life size ones.
It looks like Big Chicken is back in service for breakfast.
We are approaching Hilo.
The 7:50 coffee line is short as it has been for the port days.
It looks like they just got off to a slow start.
I got some Big Chicken and brought it back to the room.
I am getting off the ship and heading to my excursion.
I found my tour company down on the end.
For full coverage of the tour please check out Volcanoes National Park. I’m going to skip ahead to after the tour.
Let’s check out some of the artwork at the port since it’s less crowded than it was this morning.
I’m heading back to the ship.
They removed the towel animals from this morning. I’m heading to Big Chicken for a late lunch.
My room was cleaned while I was ashore.
After eating I headed to the alchemy for a dirty martini. I had one here then got one to go for sail away.
Then I headed up to deck 10 for sail away.
I got a Mai Tai from the bar.
You can see the aft balconies down there.
I finished my Mai Tai and got a Martini.
I went back to the Mai Tai. I met a retired Air Force guy out here and talked to him for about a half hour then I headed down to the room.
They have comedy in the theater tonight so that’s where I’m heading.
Comedy host Billy
Brad Trackman
After comedy I grabbed a dirty martini from the Alchemy Bar to take to dinner.
They put me in kind of an odd spot at a four top in the lower area.
I’ve been sitting up there.
Spinach, arugula, feta, and strawberry salad
Muffuletta flatbread
Bourbon glazed beef short ribs
Ricotta cheese cake
After dinner I stopped by the room to grab a beer from my stash, then I headed back to the theater for the Love & Marriage show.
After the show I stopped by the Alchemy for a couple dirty martinis before bed.
This is our location as I head to bed. Tomorrow is the first of several consecutive sea days as we head to Mexico.
