Good morning! I slept 7 hours then couldn’t get back to sleep. It was nice and quiet in the room though.
I’m pretty sure that broken display in my room also controls the temperature. Fortunately it’s been nice and cool in here so I haven’t had to worry about it.
Here are today’s Freestyle Dailies.
Here is a look at the studio lounge. I forgot to stash vodka last night so I could make my own screwdriver this morning.
I got some ice for my cooler, some latte, and filled my Brita with water.
Today is kind of a weird day. It’s the first port day of the cruise but we don’t arrive in Costa Maya until 2pm. Our port time goes until 10pm. I don’t know what the point of that is since Costa Maya isn’t a town and most of the places you can go will close long before then.
I think they’re only keeping us there that late so they can say they gave us 8 hours in port even though half of them are useless.
I got a screwdriver from The Local and I’m heading back to the food hall to see what their breakfast situation is.
They have a buffet breakfast in the food hall.
I decided to try one of the mushroom egg whites.
Then I switched to bloody marys.
There’s a Q&A in the atrium.
After the Q&A I headed to lido deck for ice carving.

The Luna Bar is out of Abita Strawberry and Purple Haze. Amber they still have but they’re doing a keg change which will be 30 minutes. I got a Miami Weiss for now.
Tables are tough to get in the food hall at lunch. Yesterday people were standing around waiting for me to leave. Today I walked through and they were all taken. I happened to catch someone leaving so I hopped in that booth.

We are the only ship in port today. It’s too bad the day couldn’t start earlier.
I grabbed a few things from the room and I’m about to head off of the ship.
The flyers are getting ready to go.
That’s a popular picture spot.
The main pool isn’t crowded yet.
The “secret pool” is empty.
It started to rain so I sought shelter in the bar.
It stopped raining so I got a Dos Equis to take back in the pool.
I stayed for over an hour and was alone almost the entire time. A family of four came for a few minutes then left.
The surf machine wasn’t open today.
I’m heading back to the ship.
I got a great shot of the dolphins.
The main pool still isn’t that bad for this time of day.
I wanted to see when the big restaurant closes. I figured we’re here until 10pm maybe it’s a dinner option. I didn’t see a hostess downstairs so I stepped upstairs. I’ve never seen this empty!
I decided to hang around up here, finish my beer, and watch the dolphin encounter.
What do they have one size fits all? Are they putting kids vests on adults?
I asked a guy downstairs. He told me the restaurant closes at 5pm which really stinks. It’s just worthless port time after that.
I’m heading back to the ship for real this time.
I also got a laugh out of a massage girl. I’m heading back to the ship. She runs up “sir, sir, would you like a massage?” I said “no habla ingles”
My room hasn’t been serviced yet.
I hung out in the room and drank some beers.
Abita Amber. He said there’s a chance they could have Purple Haze tomorrow.
I got a good seat in the food hall for dinner.
This is what I’ve been waiting for.
I grabbed a couple Stellas to take to the theater.
Cruise Director Alvin introduces the Syd Norman’s Pour House band for a Fleetwood Mac set. You aren’t allowed to take pictures during this show.
After the show I grabbed some beers for comedy.
This is the comedy line.
I grabbed a bar stool by a high table in the back.

This time I got a better seat with a table.

I grabbed a couple Coronas to stash in my cooler for Harvest Caye tomorrow.
The TV is on in the studio lounge. It’s been off most of the cruise.
On Encore this stayed stocked 24/7. Here they clean it out at night. It would be nice to be able to grab a late night snack. I did grab a couple midnight cookies on Encore.
I picked up another Corona for the cooler and a couple shots of vodka for my screwdriver in the morning.
I’m off to bed. Tomorrow we’re at Harvest Caye in Belize. Good Night!
