Prima: Roatan

Good Morning. We’re docking in Coxen Hole, Roatan today. I’m going to the Gumbalimba Animal Reserve & Sanctuary.

This is standing in front of my door. That is the entrance to the studio lounge straight ahead.

It’s a port day morning and I don’t have a bunch of time to drink coffee so I’m going with two double espressos today.

I also filled up my Brita and made a screwdriver with the vodka shots I stashed last night.

This is a look at the pastries in the studio lounge.

Here is today’s Freestyle Daily.

Since I’m not going to be back in time for lunch I’m going to make sure I get a good breakfast in at the dining room.

This is a nice dining room with excellent views.

I special ordered the egg and avocado wrap with egg whites.

And pancakes

Radiance of the Seas is in port with us.

I’m finishing up my coffee here.

I’m about to head out. I remember the steward’s cart was in the hall earlier. It’s gone now and he hasn’t cleaned my room yet.

I don’t need any towels today.

This floating table is loaded with long necks for someone.

I just got back from my excursion and I’m heading back to the ship.

There’s that floating table we saw this morning.

This group of people are not native Hondurans. They come from Africa and migrated here to avoid slavery.

Since I’m back early I could still eat in the food hall. But I don’t want anything big. Since I’ve been out in the heat this sounds like a good time for the hot fudge sundae. I ended up getting the spinach dip as well.

The steward cleaned my room while I was gone.

And my touchscreen has been repaired. This hasn’t worked all cruise.

He took me down to 1 towel though. I don’t like that. If I see a cart I’m grabbing another. I’m going to be using that towel like right now.

I went to get some water and ice and I think the steward was in the hallway cramming a bunch of big towels in his cart. I mean squeezing them to make them all fit. On my way out I asked if I could please get another big towel.

He gave me a look like I just asked him to go down to the laundry room, locate a specific towel, hand wash it, dry it with a blow dryer, fold it into an elephant, and deliver it to my cabin.

He hesitated for a couple seconds then said “here” and gave me one he had on the top of his cart. I said “thank you” and left. That has been our biggest interaction of the cruise. Not very friendly. But why is he hoarding towels?

It’s unfortunate that I just started really cruising NCL after the entertainment cutbacks. I liked Choir of Man on Encore. I saw it twice. If I were on Encore a year ago they would’ve had Kinky Boots as well.

I’d be excited to see Beetlejuice on Viva. Burn the Floor? Not so much. .

I grabbed a couple Sam Adams for the show.

It’s like Amor Cubano on Carnival. Is it better? Maybe. But not enough to be the only real show on this ship. Their second, about to be third newest ship in their fleet. I’m not sure what they cut to make room for The Price is Right here. I’m guessing it was something good.
