Sheraton Times Square

I stayed at the Sheraton Times Square before and after my New England/Canada cruise out of New York City.  I thought the location was outstanding. It’s walking distance to Times Square, The Theater District, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, and even the port if you’re willing to do it.

I booked this hotel on Hotwire for a total of $205 the first night and $251 the second night.

When I was there they were in the process of remodeling their lobby so they had a temporary front desk downstairs on the lower level. It was interesting to come back a week later and see how much progress they made on their renovations in a week.

Check-in was a bit of a wait. They had all of these stations but only had two open.

Bag check was close to the temporary front desk. I used this the second time when I arrived before check-in.

This is the lower level entrance where bag check and the temporary front desk were located. You could also take an elevator down to LL.

I had a line my second time but not as bad as the first time.

The room was a pretty good size for New York City. I would say it was slightly larger than the Holiday Inn Express I stayed at in the Financial District but smaller than The Warwick from my first visit to New York.

They had some kind of a street market right outside. I noticed the next week it had shifted over a street.

This was my second room. It feels smaller than my first one. Since I booked it on Hotwire, I likely just took whatever the cheapest room type was.

They give you a voucher for two bottles of water from the gift shop. I also had a food credit that could be used in their restaurants. I used it on three Brooklyn Lagers in the bar. The second time I didn’t use it at all. I would’ve liked to have used it at Starbucks but I had to leave for the airport before Starbucks opened.

They have smart elevators where you tell it which floor you want and it tells you which elevator to get in.

This is the lobby the second time I went. The week prior they was all curtained off on both sides due to renovations.

This is what it was like a week earlier.

I really liked this hotel and would stay here again if I found another good price on it.
