Warner Bros. Studio Tour

Today I am going on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Hollywood. It’s $76 for the basic tour. They have some bigger packages. The plus tour is considerably more expensive at $160 and the description doesn’t tell you what you really get other than “additional time with the tour guide” so I stuck with the basic tour.

It was a $17 Uber from my hotel on the Walk of Fame to the Studio.

There’s a museum you can look around before starting your tour. It doesn’t seem to matter what time you booked for your tour. You can spend as much time as you want in this museum and when you are ready, you just get in line for the tour.

Some of the memorabilia in this room includes the boxing gloves from Million Dollar Baby, J.R.’s hat and boots from Dallas, and Phoebe’s guitar from Friends.

The floor has an aerial image of the backlot on it.

This is where you go when you are ready to start your tour.

First you go into this theater to watch a five-minute video. Then you get assigned to a tour guide.

They call this “the jungle.” Big Bang Theory, Aquaman,  and Jurassic Park are among those with scenes filmed here.

The building on the right was Noel Kahn’s cabin in Pretty Little Liars.

This is where a T-Rex was chasing Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park.

That’s a coyote.

The lagoon here was used in The Last Samurai, Ocean’s 12, Batman Forever, and Pee Wee’s Big Adventure.

This street has a lot of the writers offices in the houses. The Muppet Movie and Gilmore Girls had scenes filmed on it.

They call this “the bridge building.” It’s used a lot for hospitals.

This is the parking garage. Below it is the place that has all of the costumes.

This area was Medford, Texas in Young Sheldon. It was also used for Tokyo Plaza in Austin Powers Goldmember

This is Hennessy Street which was used on Friends and ER.

This was used for the downtown scenes in Okinawa in The Karate Kid II.

This corner was the pet store in Pee Wes’s Big Adventure.

The call this brownstone street.

This is New York Street.

These are examples of doors and windows painted that look real on camera.

This Seesaw was used to make Superman fly.

This is Abbott Elementary with the ER hospital behind it.

That is the Friends fountain.

This is midwestern street.

Beverly High School has been used as a lot of schools.

That is the Gilmore Girls Gazebo in the middle.

This church was used for Mr. Freeze’s wedding. It’s also the only remaining structure visible on the zoom out in Blazing Saddles.

This is the house used in the opening credits on Growing Pains. It was also used in Rebel Without a Cause and Gremlins.

This is what’s actually inside it.

These are the Gilmore Girl’s houses. It’s actually just one house but they use the front as one house and the back as another house.

Then behind that is Spencer’s barn from Pretty Little Liars. It was also used for uncle Jesse’s house when he moved out of on Full House.

This is a Full House replica built for Fuller House.

This is the bookstore from The West Wing.

This is the courthouse used in the Batman TV series.

We got to go inside the stage 25 soundstage. It’s named after the Big Bang theory. A show has to run for 10 years to get a plaque on the building.

This is currently being used for a show called George and Mandi’s first marriage which is a Young Sheldon spinoff. They just finished filming season 1. No photos were allowed in the soundstage.

Stage 24 is The Friends Stage.

Stage 26 is The Two and a Half Men stage.

Stage 23 is used a lot for Marvel. It was also used for Barbie.

We are driving through the design studio.

That is from Ellen’s Oscars.

Stage 8 is used for the Abbott gym.

Stage 16 is nine floors and 98 feet tall. It is the tallest of any studio sound stage.

This is new. It was brought in yesterday. It’s the back of an airplane for filming people jumping out of an airplane.

Stage 19 was used for the Cooper home in Young Sheldon.

That ends the guided portion of the tour. There are other museums to go through and when you are ready you can catch a ride to see the Friend’s Fountain.

Here you can sit on the Friends couch and get a picture.

This is a Big Bang Theory photo op.

There is a lot of interactive stuff here.

After that museum you end up in a Friends themed gift shop and coffee shop. When you are done in here you can catch a ride to the Friends Fountain.

Here is the ride through the backlot to the Friend’s Fountain.

This is the ride back from the fountain.

Next is the final museum with is based around super heros and Harry Potter.

These are the wings from the final battle in Wonder Woman.

This part was pretty cool because it’s the costumes from the new Superman movie. At the time of this tour, the movie hadn’t been released yet.

Here are all of the batman costumes.

And the batman vehicles.

Now we are getting into the Harry Potter section.

They have this interactive experience here.

You had an opportunity to hold this actual academy award and get a picture with it.

After that you end up in another gift shop which is mostly Harry Potter items.

And we are back out where we started.

I highly recommend taking this tour if you’re in Hollywood. Especially if you’re a fan of Friends, Big Bang Theory, Superman, Batman, or Harry Potter.
