Celebration: Day 2

on
January 27, 2023

Good morning! I spent some time unpacking this morning. Then I got ready and headed out to Big Chicken.

The Honey chicken biscuit is what I like for breakfast there.

This is today’s schedule of events.

Let’s check out The Ultimate Playground and other things on deck 17.

Ropes Course.

Basketball.

Bolt Roller Coaster.

Mini Golf.

Guy’s Burgers.

Second floor Tiki Bar.

I actually found a duck in that Tiki mouth.

Bar 820 for coffee.

I got a mocha.

I followed the mocha up with a black coffee.

The pizzas look regular size today. Last night they were stretched out bigger.

They just finished up trivia in the Pig & Anchor. Remember that bathroom from yesterday? A lady almost walked in the men’s room while I was washing my hands.

I got a spicy bloody mary at the bar.

I signed up for the brewery tour. I guess this is as good a time as any since I have a lot of onboard credit.

The brewery tour is $27 and you get a glass and a beer. If you have Cheers you get it at a discount price of $20.

I was just informed that the Brew Master is sick today so they rescheduled the tour for the next sea day.

Watermelon crush at The Watering Hole.

This is the exterior of Bar 820.

Build a bear.

I picked up my platinum gift and pin at Pixels.

I thought this was a cancellation. It’s just a time change. I don’t know what the original time was honestly.

This is what they have at Street Eats today.

I don’t recall them selling jewelry on lido in the past.

Let’s have a look at Sea Dogs.

They had bangers yesterday as well. They did switch from Italian to polish sausage.

They still don’t have the pretzel buns.

And Schwarma.

Chicken schwarma.

I wanted to try that Beach lager but their beer taps aren’t working.

Back over to Street Eats for Philly Cheesesteak Fries.

Praline and Mango are the gelato flavors today.

Praline.

NY cheesecake and apple crumble.

NY cheesecake.

Let’s check out the Serenity deck.

I got a pina colada at the bar.

So far I like my room location. It’s a very small hallway. There are only a few rooms. It’s close to the pool area. And so far it’s been quiet. I was in the room from 1am-9am and not a peep. I’m on the end so I only have one neighbor. A lot of interiors have a room behind them. These do not.

Normally I would book all the way forward to be close to the secret deck. Since this class doesn’t have the secret deck, I’m going midship to be closer to the pool area.

If you come in from lido and immediately take a right, then go through this door.

That takes you to the little hallway I’m in. My room is on the end.

This is the other side of my room.

Some kind of game is starting up on lido.

Let’s go check out the new Latitudes bar.

The menu isn’t very rum/vodka friendly and they’re out of most of the beers I wanted to try here.

I’m going with the German beer.

That is a Sakura.

This car was rescued from one of the ships that was sold for scrap.

They named the restaurants after retired Carnival ships.

Let’s take a peek in the Carnivale Restaurant.

This is The Golden Jubilee. This area is The Brass Magnolia on Mardi Gras.

I can work with this menu a little better than the one they had a Latitudes.

I’m starting with a June Bug.

Next a Tiramisu martini.

This is a Grasshopper.

On Mardi Gras they had a Jazz band in there. This looks like it’s set up for a solo pianist. I don’t quite understand that when they have a piano bar.

The Steakhouse bar is not quite open yet. I do like it being outside of the steakhouse like this. It’s a little more inviting for someone not eating here to grab a drink like the watermelon martini I like here.

In the back of the ship is the Festivale Restaurant.

Alchemy bar is open for business.

They are setting up Celebration Central for “A Night of Enchantment.”

A look down in The Golden Jubilee.

The Alchemy is still slammed!

This bathroom is going to be awkward when that automatic door doesn’t close.

I found a seat at the Alchemy. Vlad made this.

Manol is a supervisor now. He was an alchemist on both of my 2018 Dream cruises. Then he was working the Tiki Bar on Mardi Gras last year.

From Nikola. A drink he made for me in 2020 on Panorama.

Cruise Director Lee makes an appearance.

This is happening down bar.

I’m going to head to the Captain’s Welcome but I stepped outside to catch the sunset.

Bonsai Teppanyaki.

Here is the liquor price form for bottles you purchase to take home.

A kid started to get in the elevator. I told him this one only goes sideways. I didn’t expect him to believe me but I guess he did.

The Captain’s Welcome in Celebration Central.

I checked in for dinner 10 minutes ago. I haven’t gotten any kind of wait estimate so I’m guessing it’s a long one.

Love and Marriage show is about to start in the theater.

One of my favorite shows, Celestial Strings is starting in Celebration Central.

Comedy host Trevor is putting on his boogie shoes.

Spike Davis.

I sat close to the door in case my table was ready..and I got the call.

Mandarin honey crunch salad.

Spring rolls.

Jasmine rice.

Kung POW! chicken.

Coconut Tres Leches.

This is what they had in the main dining room tonight.

I got out just in time to make it to the repeat of the show I left. I got there one minute before the show started but they say it’s full and won’t let anyone in.

Eden Parker is in the Piano Bar.

The Batman is playing on lido deck.

It is indeed a solo pianist playing in the Golden Jubilee.

Celestial Strings is on in Celebration Central.

I thought I better get in line for Spike’s last performance of this show.

What they are doing now to handle the crowds is repeating the same show four times a night. That’s fine, but last year I got to see more comedy on Mardi Gras because they weren’t repeating the same show four times.

That ship was operating at a reduced capacity at the time. I guess four repeats is what they’ve had to do to make up for having such a small comedy club on such a large ship.

Trevor brings audience members on stage to put on their boogie shoes.

Spike Davis.

Now it’s a solo guitarist in the Golden Jubilee.

Late night comedy in the theater.

Jaylyn Bishop.

Spike Davis.

I want to try the other new pizza. The Picadillo.

They are definitely making the pizzas bigger at night. Look at that. Those are half pizzas taking up the entire plate.

The Picadillo.

Good night! Tomorrow we are in Cozumel.
