Viva: Embarkation
Good Morning. Today is embarkation day for Norwegian Viva. I realized I didn’t pack a toothbrush so I stopped by the Walmart in League City before heading to the port.

It’s going to be a 22 minute drive.

It’s it Pet Smart or Pets Mart?

For about four years I’ve been consistently booking Discount Cruise Parking. A year ago when I did Prima from Galveston I met a guy waiting for the shuttle who had parked here. That’s when I found out about this lot. It’s the old Discount lot but now it’s Affordable Cruise Parking. He said it was a flat $100 for the week. When I did my Princess cruise last year I tried it and saved $61 vs. what Discount was charging. They have now increased their price to $140 and Discount was going to cost $156. I had a good experience with them last time so I went ahead and booked with them again saving $16.

I parked and was able to get on a shuttle immediately. That’s the Jubilee shuttle in front. I’m the only one on Viva right now.

We waited 10 minutes and then left.

We’re stopping at the covered lot across the street to pick people up.

The downside to this location is there are train tracks in between. We caught a train on debarkation day last time but it wasn’t a long wait.

The driver is taking us around the train tracks.

It’s bumper to bumper traffic going to the ships.

I don’t think I’ve ever been this far down. Last year Prima was on a Friday and we were the only ship.

I’ve never been here.

I left my bag with the guy with the cowboy hat and holster.

I figured out this is a new port.

I am through security at 11:30.

I got my key at 11:35.

I am onboard at 11:40. Next time we’ll cover day 1 on Norwegian Viva.
