Christmas Breeze: Galveston Day Two

Good morning! I slept pretty good last night. I did hear some people coming in after midnight. The stairs were loud and the people were loud and intoxicated. Other than that I slept good.

I couldn’t figure out how to turn the TV on last night. The instructions say use the remote. The only remote I can find is on the wall next to the fan switch. None of the buttons did anything for the TV. I sent a message to the hosts. I can see they read it but they haven’t responded.

That’s where I got the burger last night.

There’s a coffee machine here but no coffee. I do have a full pot pack that I snagged at one of my recent hotel stays but I was going to save that for tomorrow and go out for coffee today. There are no coffee shops nearby.

I could just walk in that Holiday Inn Express like I’m staying there and grab a coffee.

There’s a Valero 3/4 of a mile away that probably has coffee. I didn’t want to drive down here but I guess I’m going to because there are no breakfast places nearby either. I do have a muffin but I’d like to save it for tomorrow.

The instructions say not to park in the driveway. Nobody was there last night. Today two cars are stealing parking without a pass.

That is Bishop’s Palace. A bishop lived there.

Parking is rough around here but I do have that residential permit which is nice.

About 20 people were waiting for a table but I was able to get a two top immediately.

The waiter gave me a coffee to go which was nice.

I’m pretty sure you are not supposed to do that. Trash cans are right outside.

I guess there’s no rule on the trash bags. I thought I read you were supposed to put it in a can outside but it actually just says put all trash in trash bags before checking out. I think it should be a rule. I don’t think they should be piling it up in the hallway when there are cans right outside the door.

I walked over the The Spot just in time for their 11am opening to get the bar seat I want.

They have signs on the TVs showing what game is going to be where for noon. At the bar we’ve got Steelers-Bengals, Texans-Jags, Seahawks-Jets, Chargers-Falcons, and Cardinals-Vikings.

Then if I lean back I have Titans-Commanders and Colts-Patriots up there.

And we’re off!

The bartender accidentally opened an extra Mich Ultra so she gave me a free beer.

Birds are just hanging out in here.

Pats should go back to those uniforms on a permanent basis.

Shrimp kisses

I had to watch the first possession of the Saints game on my phone because a manager has to change the channels here. I knew that was going to be an issue because believe it or not, I had to go through that to get Texas vs. Texas A&M on in here last night. The bartender last night was from Lafayette so I think she favored the LSU game.

The burgers look really good here.

I got an email for my upgrade bid for NCL Prima. I always bid $5 over the minimum. I’m only bidding on balcony so it would be $410. I’ve never been successful on NCL. I was on Princess last year.
