New England Getaway: Sail Away
We are getting ready to sail away from Pier 88 in Manhattan on Norwegian Getaway so I’m looking for a good view on a public deck.

That’s the Intrepid museum at Pier 86. The shed looking structure houses the space shuttle Enterprise and you can see a British Airways Concorde on a platform on the left.

Empire State Building

Chrysler Building

Looks like a Southwest plane heading to LaGuardia.

That’s The Edge. I’ve been up there.

I’ve been to the top of the Empire State Building as well. The very top is a pretty small circle.

Now we are heading towards lower Manhattan.

This is probably our last view of the Empire State Building before it disappears behind the other buildings.

I’ve been to the top of Freedom Tower as well.

Next up is the Statue of Liberty.

I’ve been inside the crown of the statue. That single door in the middle just below the statue itself is the highest you can go without a crown ticket. I highly recommend getting the crown ticket if you can. It was only like $30 when I did it. As someone who has been to many view points, that’s a great price. They could easily double that and it would still sell out.

We’re coming up on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge which connects Brooklyn and Staten Island.

At the end of this video you hear glass breaking. I’ll show you what that was.

I had this area where nobody was near me. When we’re passing the bridge these two ladies decide they need to get right up in my space. One of them knocks my drink over abruptly ending my video prematurely.

I ended up cutting my finger when cleaning up the glass.

Next time we’ll cover the rest of day 1.
