NOLA Escape: Roatan
Good morning! We’re in Roatan today. I don’t have any plans for the day so it’s going to be a lazy morning. Here is today’s Freestyle Daily.

I don’t think anyone is maintaining the Studio Lounge. Or at least not often. I’ve been up here at 7:30 two mornings and it’s already looked like this both times.

I’m just getting a latte.

We’re pulling in behind Icon of the Seas.

We docked at 8am.

Let’s take a closer look at Icon.

It looks like Topsiders is a smoking area on this ship. That’s not happening on the newer ships.

I got a screwdriver to take back to the room.

I think I fixed a major problem for the entire cruise line this morning. I was in the shower with my screwdriver. My coast had reached the point where it’s a pain to keep it straddling the slippery, dish less hole.

I poked a hole in the bottom so the water will drain.

I still had time to make it to the dining room before breakfast closed.

They’re about to start an Arts & Crafts class in the atrium.

I went back to the screwdrivers.

I’m going to get off of the ship and walk around the port area for a bit. Maybe I can find some Salva Vidas.

Today they used facial recognition to disembark. I’m pretty sure I used my card yesterday.

I’m going to go up stairs and get a shot of the port from up there.

This is where you exit the port. They also have tours and taxis here. Salva Vidas are $6 in the port. They should be more like $3-4 so I’m going to see if I can find a bar in town.

I exited the port and took a left. Not too far down the street I ran into this sign.

They have Wifi here as well.

I’m going to take this one outside and check out the view.

We have a pretty good view of Icon from here but not Escape.

This is where I’m at in relation to the port.

I moved back inside to the bar.

I think some crew members showed up.

One more and I closed out. I’ll go back to the ship for lunch.

That was a lot better than paying $6 per beer.

I’m heading back to the port.

That looks dangerous.

When I came back the guy on the drums had his tips under a hat. The lady behind him picked the hat up and a 5 blew away. He was chasing it down the pier but it went in the water.

I’m trying the American Diner for lunch.

Nachos and pulled pork sliders

After lunch I went to Spice for a mudslide for dessert.

The sun was coming down pretty hard so I moved back by the American Diner for some shade.

Then I got a banana daiquiri at the pool bar. There’s good shade here.

After that I moved inside to the Sugar Cane Mojito Bar.

The steward hadn’t done my room when I got back at 2pm but that was fine since I had the second set of towels. Now I have all clean towels and my stash.

Here’s a look at the afternoon offerings in the studio lounge.

This is scary. Everything said back on board was 6pm but we’re pulling out at 6pm. I hope everyone was on the ship early.

Before we left they announced we would be executing a series of 360 degree turns after leaving which is a once a year requirement. I wonder if that’s why they decided to leave early.
I got to 7pm PG comedy show 10 minutes early and four barstools were available. I had to stop at the brewhouse on the way to get the shiners.

Mark Klein

I realized I’ve seen this show before. I looked back and it’s the other comedians PG show that I haven’t seen. His is at 9 tonight but there’s no way I can do that and the magic show and dinner. So I decided to just go to the early magic show, then dinner, then try to go to bed early since I have to leave the ship at 7am tomorrow.
On my way to the theater they were playing this movie guessing game.

Pot stickers

French onion soup

Chicken cordon bleu

Carrot cake

I stopped by the comedy show 15 minutes late and stood in the back for 10 minutes. I’ve heard all of those jokes as well so I just headed up to the room to try to get to bed earlier. I need to be up in 7-8 hours.

Tomorrow we’re in Harvest Caye. Good Night!
