New England Getaway: Day 7

on
July 20, 2026

Good morning. With the time change I got about eight hours of sleep. I woke up a lot. My neighbor definitely had her TV on when I woke up at 1:45 and 3 am. I was able to get right back to sleep though.

Let’s grab a latte and check out the studio lounge offerings.

The morning show is on in the atrium.

This area by O’Sheehans is really popular. I walked through last night and it was the first time in 3-4 days that I didn’t see people bowling.

Air hockey, pool, skeeball, basketball. That stuff is always being played at night.

This was a mess last night but they cleaned it up and added some grey tags.

I went to Savor for breakfast.

Parfait

It was kind of a long wait for pancakes this morning. They came 22 minutes after my parfait.

I couldn’t find my thank you notes. I’m either out or they’re buried in my suitcase. I didn’t want unpacked after it just packed. So I made a homemade ones

Ben has been a good steward. He found me the first day and introduced himself. When I asked for more towels he started giving me two. Except yesterday I only got one of each.

He and his assistant are always in my hall or around the corner where the linen closet is so they’re always saying hi. It’s the total opposite from the one I had on Prima. I’m still not sure who my steward was on Prima.

I bought the maximum cruise next certificates this morning. I meant to do it on Encore and Prima. I just kept forgetting.

Basically I spent $1000 for $2000 worth of Cruise Next Certificates. It’s 100% profit for me and they get my money a little early.

I got an Irish coffee at O’Sheehans

Then I switched to screwdrivers.

It’s Saturday so I’ll keep an eye out for what college football they have on today. I don’t watch much of it. I do watch some Texas games and definitely when Arch Manning plays so I’m interested in Texas @ Ohio State today. When they added NIL I said Texas would be the best team in a few years and here we are.

The pastry chef just had a cake making demo. A serious one. Not the comedy one we had on Prima. They always do Black Forest though. Here, Prima, and on Regal Princess

I was scoping out game watching locations. Both of O’Sheehan’s bar TVs are on the game. All of O’Sheehan’s restaurant TVs are on the game.

The bowling alley has a couple TVs on the game and a little bar area.

Syd’s on the waterfront is probably the best spot. They are the only spot I’ve found with audio. Of course O’Sheehan’s is the only spot with food.

Lido bar has the game.

This H2O big screen would’ve been great! It’s kind of weird how H2O isn’t consistent with this ship to ship. Some ships are like this. Some ships show sports.

But the three TVs at the H2O bar have it. I don’t see what the big deal would be to also have it on the big screen.

Mudslide

I checked the channels on the TVs in the room. Soccer is on Sport24. I ran into a couple of angry soccer fans at O’Sheehan’s when the TV went to football.

Pime has the game.

Special events 2 has soccer.

The studio lounge has the game.

I’ll probably move around. I’ll start out on the waterfront. Then come back here at halftime for lunch. I considered just eating now but I’m still full from breakfast. Then maybe I’ll hit all of the spots in the second half since I’ve never watched sports on Norwegian before.

It looks like they’re going to have trivia on the big screen in the atrium.

Then there’s always old faithful if I need to be mobile.

I grabbed a Guinness. The O’Sheehan’s bar is full.

I caught a 3rd down play by one of the TVs in the pool table area. Those are full. I moved down to the bowling area for the 4th down.  That seating is open.

I headed to the waterfront during the commercial  break and  was surprised to find an open table by Syd’s.

And that’s the speaker right there. I’ve been all around the ship and this is the only spot with audio.

I stepped down to that bar between quarters.

I had an interesting halftime. I thought it would be easy to eat and watch the game at O’Sheehan’s. They have a bar inside the O’Sheehan’s restaurant area with two TVs. I haven’t seen anyone sitting there the entire cruise. There’s a real game on now so people are sitting there. There are no bartenders so I think it’s a food bar.

Apparently you are not allowed to eat food at that bar. That’s right. The bar in the restaurant with no bartenders has a food restriction. But at the real bar where people go to drink, I had a lady eating a chili dog next to me earlier. That’s backwards.

Deal or No Deal is happening on the big screen now.

For a table at O’Sheehan’s you had to wait and there was no guarantee for one with a view of the TVs.

I ran up to the buffet. I’m decided to camp at the pizza section until they brought out something fresh. It was less than a minute for a cheese.

A guy at the bar wanted to give me the entire history of the Samuel Adams brewery.

I took a peek inside. This is similar to the Cavern Club on Encore.

All of the TVs in O’Sheehan’s are on tennis now and the place has cleared out.

Let’s see what’s on the room stations.

Iowa State

Tennis

I went to refill my brita and they changed things up on me. I noticed yesterday the wine station was gone. Well now they moved the water and lemonade to where the wine station used to be.

Jalapeno-cucumber mojito at Sugarcane.

There’s an 88 and 90 year old next to me. The bartender said he needed to see their ID. I asked if there was a maximum age to drink here.

We got some entertainment.

Coco loco

Raspberry guava

Jalapeno cucumber

We are getting close to civilization.

This is the only game on now and nobody is watching it

I’m going to the Manhattan room for dinner.

Caesar salad

Scallops

Three-cheese baked ziti

Nutella crème brûlée

After dinner I grabbed a Guinness at O’Sheehan’s.

Movie Sketch comedy was basically the same as Prima. When they brought out the stuff for Ghost I screamed “ghost.” People laughed. Then when the  music started they laughed louder.

This is a much smaller model than on encore and Prima. They actually moved it out one night and set up a photo thing here.

The venue full sign was out at Syd’s but they were still letting people in.

I got a standing spot at the back by the bar.

The TVs are all on tennis.

I think he’s doing all Phil Collins.

I grabbed a double shot of Grey Goose so I can make a screwdriver in the morning.

I’m off to bed. Tomorrow is debarkation day.
