New England Getaway: Halifax
Good morning! We are still on our way to Halifax. I accidentally booked a connecting room in the studios and I’m paying for it this morning. I woke up at 5:45 hearing my neighbor’s TV which sounds like it has some some preacher on it. It’s 6:30 now so I guess any hope of more sleep is over.

One good thing about being up this early is I’ll have time to have a real breakfast. But this is what they have in the lounge.

Double latte

Here is today’s Freestyle Daily.

From what I’ve been able to tell, there is no place where I have access to the front of the ship. The exterior decks on 7 and 8 don’t go all the way around the ship. Above lido is Vibe. There is no forward Observation/Spinnaker lounge on this ship from what I can tell.

The sun deck is my best bet. It was roped off but they just took that down.

I brought a glass of ice to the room to make a screwdriver with the vodka I brought back last night and orange juice from the lounge.

Luggage tags are available in the atrium. I grabbed an orange tag to be safe. I either want the earliest time or I want to carry off.

This is Savor but I ended up going Taste because it had no line.

They gave me a nice window seat.

The pilot is onboard.

Pretzel sandwich made with egg whites and cinnamon raisin French toast

I’m standing as far forward as the waterfront goes. You can see deck 7 below goes just a little farther forward.

I plan to visit Georges Island today.

There are usually bagpipers welcoming the ship in Halifax. There wasn’t the last time I was here because it was a holiday.

There are a bunch of kids enjoying the show. It looks like an art class.

I got off of the ship right away.

I booked a ferry over to Georges Island for $15 through Grey Line. For full coverage of that please visit Georges Island.

I’m back from Georges Island. First I’m going to get something to eat then I’ll check out the Maritime Museum.
I have heard the thing to eat here is Donair.

They have two ships in front of the Maritime Museum. This is a WWII escort ship.

For full coverage of the museum, please check out Maritime of the Atlantic Museum.

I decided to get an Avalanche Beavertail before heading back to the ship.

These are the afternoon studio lounge offerings.

I got a martini in the atrium.

They have some kind of a music trivia going on.

I moved upstairs and got a Guinness at O’Sheehan’s.

I got a front row seat for Bring Back The 90’s.

After the show I headed to the back of the ship for sail away.

The pilot is heading back.

I’m doing dinner in The Manhattan Room tonight.

Caesar salad

Cream of asparagus soup

Herb crusted rotisserie chicken

Snickers pound cake

They have comedy in the theater tonight. I headed to O’Sheehan’s for a couple of beers to take to comedy.

Kelly Terranova

Ryan Wingfield

After comedy I headed back to O’Sheehan’s for a Guinness.

They have college football on so I decided to hang around for another.

The tags are mostly cleared out.

I headed to the glow party next.

I’m off to bed. Tomorrow is a sea day.
