NOLA Escape: Day 2
Good morning! Today is a sea day on Norwegian Escape as we make our way down to Cozumel.
This is what they have in the studio lounge. The pastries have been popular this morning.

I’m getting a couple of lattes.

Here is today’s Freestyle Daily.

The light from the window really comes under that pad at night. I used the blanket from the bottom of the bed to block it.

I’m pretty sure there’s supposed to be a dish in the shower and I’m not talking about myself.

In the elevator I was given this raffle ticket. There’s a group on the ship for the Saints bye week with special guests and events.

I also found this duck keychain.

They gave me a window seat for breakfast.

Spinach, mushroom, onion egg white omelet

Cinnamon French toast

This is the first time I’ve seen a sushi demo on a ship. I’m going to watch it.

First I got a couple of grey goose screwdrivers from the bar. I can make my own in the morning since they have orange juice in the studio lounge.

They had some audience participation.

Afterwards you could put on a glove and try one. I tried the first one that was made totally by a chef. The other two they had volunteers from the audience.

My room was made up but the steward didn’t replace my big towel. I may need to snag some from his cart.

I’m going around scouting out potential football watching locations. Preferably one with sound. I forgot there was a morning game today. It’s on the lido TV and all lido bar TVs with no sound.

Spice doses not have the game on the big screen but they have it at the bar without sound.

It looks like they’re setting up for a wine tasting at Cellars.

On the waterfront they have it at the Pour House with no sound.

I’m having a spicy Bloody Mary at the O’Sheehans. There is no sound here either. The Brewhouse doesn’t open until 2pm.

I’m able to stream on the non-streaming WiFi package so I’m going to stream the Giants/Packers. I want to see/hear Drew’s first broadcast.

They have Stella on tap here.

Sam Adams

I got another Sam Adams to go.

They have a Thriller dance class in the atrium.

I found a stranded cart down the hall and made my move.

I ran into the Mardi Gras bar crawl at halftime.

For some reason I was thinking lunch was until 2 but it ended at 1:30. I went up the the buffet to scout out pizza. On one side they just put out this square pepperoni and I hadn’t tried their square pizza yet.

I’ve had the round on Jewel and one of the other ships.

I wasn’t a fan of the crust so I just ate the toppings.

On the way out this ice cream spot caught my eye.

I got a pistachio.

Lido deck at 2:25pm.

I ran into the bar hop again at the brewhouse.

Abita Amber

At least they know how to pour a Guinness here.

Fruity Pebbles which is half Abita Strawberry and half Abita Purple Haze which is a raspberry beer.

Abita Amber

The female bartender does not know how to pour a Guinness.

I grabbed two Morettis for the comedy magic show.

No pictures were allowed during the show so I took a quick one before he started. It was a good show. He has a different show later in the week.

They have a trio in the atrium.

Sunday night football is on at the bar.

I’m trying to get dinner done for a comedy show at 9.

A peek behind the curtain at the server escalator. A group of four intoxicated females were just chatting and walking in there like it was the exit. That was funny.

French onion soup

Parmesan Pork chop

Apple strudel

I got to Headliners 15 minutes early. It’s basically packed but same deal as on Getaway. I can easily stand at the bar during the show and have a pretty good view.

Mark Klein

A lady collapsed in the comedy show. I hear she seemed okay after the show while getting medical attention.

Someone left their plate in the hallway.

It’s everyday with the phone messages.

They have Sunday Night Football on the Lido screens.

There’s a Thriller flash mob at Spice. There’s an 80’s party next but I’m heading down to Headliners for comedy.

20 minutes early may have been too early this time.

There is still seating five minutes before the show.

Tyler Boeh

I grabbed a double shot of Grey Goose for the morning.

This is what I use to block the light that comes under that pad.

That’s what it’s like without me covering it up.

Tomorrow we’re in Cozumel. Good night!
