Hawaiian Radiance: Kauai
Good morning! We are pulling into Kauai. Today we’re going to Waimea Canyon which is known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

The 7:15 Coffee shop line is short again.

I’m grabbing a broken egg sandwich in the dining room. I was able to get it with egg whites only.

I have a fairly early excursion so I’m heading off of the ship right away. They have a few photo ops available at the port.

I’m going to tour side.

There are only two excursions leaving from the port right now and these are the buses. For full coverage of the tour please check out Waimea Canyon. I’m going to skip ahead to after the tour.

We made it back at 1:30 but I’m going to the shopping centers before getting back on the ship. There are two close by. They have shuttles but I’m just going to walk it.

That’s the current line to get back on the ship.

There’s also a beach you can walk to.

That’s the way to the beach.

There has been a lot of talk about the ABC stores in Hawaii. I’m going to check that out first.

This is the ABC store. It’s difficult to walk in there with all of the people.

I’m in search of food and drink.

Those look good. I’ll keep this one in mind.

This place is supposedly known for it’s banana pudding.

Anchor Cove is the name of this shopping center.

Across the street is the other shopping center, Harbor Mall.

I ended up going back to Anchor Cove for the shaved ice.

I got summertime which is pineapple, coconut, mango. This is the small size.

I’m heading back to the ship and eating my ice. The line for the shuttle was crazy.
That’s one of the shopping center shuttles.

The line is just as bad or worse than it was earlier.

It’s significantly worse now. It wasn’t outside at all earlier.

The guy on the right is the new comedy host.

They have Sunday Night Baseball and soccer on at the casino bar.

My room was serviced while I was gone.

I got a Mai Tai at the Tides Bar. The bartender who told me I couldn’t eat here the other day is working.

Then I got a martini for sail away.

That’s the beach you can walk to from the port.

Poipu Bay Golf Course

A dirty martini at the Alchemy Bar.

This is a show I missed while I was in Honolulu yesterday.

After being out sick for two days Nikola emerges to applause. That’s my drink being poured so good timing.

I headed to the Limelight Lounge for Joel Lindley’s comedy show.

I went ahead and requested a dinner table during the show.

Escargot

Caesar salad

Short rib and filet duo

Grand Marnier souffle

After dinner I stepped outside to catch the sunset.

Then I headed to the show in the main lounge. She may have the best voice I’ve heard on Carnival.

This is the first time I’ve gotten a blue cheese olive at a bar other than Alchemy.

There’s a solo guitarist in the atrium.

I headed to the Limelight for adult comedy. No blue cheese olives at the limelight bar.

Joel Lindley

The luau on lido deck wasn’t what I expected. It’s just a regular deck party with hulu hoops.

I’m back at the limelight for the last comedy show of the night.
The new comedy host.

She’s giving the interpreters a hard time as well.

Wicked is tonight’s Dive-in movie.

They’re cleaning the aft pool. Something must have happened in there.

The Latin duo is in the atrium.

I grabbed a Stella.

This is my stash in the room.

Don’t you love when someone is standing in two spots not intending to occupy either one?

I had two drinks left and went for two dirty martinis from the Alchemy.

I’m off to bed. Tomorrow we’re in Hilo on the big island of Hawaii.
