NOLA Escape: Day 6

Good morning! Today is the first of two consecutive sea days as we make our way back to New Orleans.

Here is today’s Freestyle Daily.

Here is a look at what they have in the studio lounge this morning.

While generally the same, the studio lounge coffee machines differ slightly from ship to ship. This one doesn’t do a double so its twice as difficult to fill my cup.

Dining rooms must be packed. I went with the shorter line. Not that either was long. It was five people vs. three people. And the three person line was a party of three. They did ask if I wanted to share a table which they usually don’t.

I still got my private table. Sort of private. It’s one of those 6-inch apart deals. I’m taking a menu picture and the lady at the table next to me asks if I need to borrow her reading glasses.

They left the ham off of this. I think there may have been a misunderstanding because he did say “egg whites on pretzel.” But it does have the cheese so I don’t know. It’s still good.

The Supper Club is kind of hidden. I haven’t been in here for any entertainment yet.

It’s time for the Saints bye week group event. That is rapper Choppa on the left, Wisdom The Gamer with the belt, and Soul Saint on the right.

For entertainment we had The Mark Stone Band.

They hosted a Wisdom the Gamer podcast. Choppa and Soul Saint were guests.

They gave away two bottles of wine.

They gave away an autographed Choppa jersey.

They gave away a $500 Norwegian gift card.

They gave away a trip to the Drew Brees Pro Football Hall of Fame induction in August.

They had a birthday cake for Choppa

After that I walked back by the atrium where they had a country dance class going on.

The weather isn’t looking good right now.

And it’s raining.

I’m still going to Spice for some pool drinks.

It wasn’t long before things cleared up.

Back inside they have a paper airplane competition.

This guy proved size doesn’t matter. With better form he could’ve won.

This guy had the fanciest plane but it broke apart and crashed just beyond the runway.

If it were a stunt comp this guy could’ve one. It did a loop and ended up there.

And we have a winner.

This is called Aqua Escape. You have to swim a lap, fill a bucket with pool water using a standard Norwegian outdoor bar cup, compete a ring throw and a bean bag toss. The fastest time wins.

I guess this is a smoking area on this ship. So is the area next to the bar in the Spice H2O area. I’m used to the smokers being put in glass boxes on the newer ships.

Luggage tags are out in the atrium.

They’re covering Hawaii on the future cruise presentation. That looks like Rainbow Falls in the upper right.

I stopped by the brew house for two Shiners then headed to the comedy show. If I sense another repeat I’ll slip out the bar exit and head to the theater for the Rumors show or to the brewhouse for football.

It was a repeat. It’s standing room only for Rumors.

I found a little standing spot back here.

I just stayed for a couple songs until Thursday Night Football started then I gave that spot to a lady who seemed more interested in it than me.

I left at the end of the 1st quarter to grab dinner. I’d like to make it to Perfect Couple at 8:45.

I’m trying something different here.

I grabbed a couple Sam Adams at the late comedy show. It’s another repeat. He did throw in a couple new jokes. 

Mean Girls is on in the atrium.
