Vessel at Hudson Yards in New York

on
July 27, 2026

Vessel is a 150-foot structure in Hudson Yards that consists of 16 floors of 154 connected staircases.

Vessel has been on my list since my first visit to New York in 2022. But it has been closed both of the times I’ve been here. Apparently they had a problem with people jumping off of it. They just re-opened it months before this trip so I put it near the top of my list.

I didn’t realize Vessel didn’t open until 11am. But I got my ticket online for the earliest time. I’m third in line. Online tickets can be purchased here.

It’s not all open. I ran into a dead end and had to go halfway down then back up to get to the highest allowable point on the other side.

They installed netting to keep people from jumping.

This is the highest allowable point. The areas on the other side without netting are not accessible at this time. That’s the side I started walking up then had to turn around, go down and come over here.

I’m not sure Vessel is worth it’s $200 million price tag but it is worth an $18 one time visit for the experience.
