San Juan Beach Airbnb
I booked this Airbnb in the Isle Verde area. It’s not far from the airport and a short walk to the beach. I was trying to keep the price under $200. This place cost me $180. The nearby resorts were starting at $500 per night. The Airbnb is right where the blue circle is pointing.

It was a $10 Lyft from the airport to here.

This is where I found the nearest coffee shop. It’s at one of the resorts. They check room cards entering from the beach. I took the street over then walked back through the beach.

San Juan Airbnbs don’t have the electronic locks that you find at Airbnbs in the states. They have old school keys, put them in these locks on the outside, and give you the number and combination.

2-3 keys is typical here because there are usually gates and possibly building doors you have to unlock to get to your room.

The elevator is out of service. The host acted surprised when I mentioned it to her. I don’t know if this just happened or if it’s always broken and she’s just acting surprised. But I had to carry my 40lb suitcase up the stairs.

There are two gates like this that you have to open to get to my room. One gets you into the little hallway that goes to my room and this one is in front of the door.

Here is a look at the room.

The AC works great which is the most important thing to me.

I’ll drink the waters but I’ll pass on the open bottle of Bacardi.

This is a look out the window. You can kind of see the water.

This beach is just a few steps away from the building gate.

That is the building from the water.

That stand on the corner sells food and drinks.

I was able to walk to a store for beer and a snack.

There are beach bars and restaurants that are walking distance.

This is where I ate dinner and watched UFC.

The only problems I found with the Airbnb were the elevator not working and this packing tape being used to cover damage to the window. A few small bugs got in and I tracked it down to this.

There are additional rules. I usually clean up after myself and don’t leave trash in the Airbnb anyway but I think this is the first time I’ve seen an actual rule that you had to take the trash out. This is also the first time I’ve seen a gather towels rule. Turning lights off and locking up are pretty standard.

This place was pretty good and had an outstanding location. I thought the price was high for Airbnb but considering the resorts on this beach are triple the price, it’s not bad. I did find an Airbnb in this area that’s just bit more of a walk to the beach and significantly cheaper than this one. But we’ll talk about that one on my next trip to San Juan.
This is how I left the place when I checked out.
