New England Getaway: Boston
Good morning from Boston! I woke up at 7. We got clearance to leave the ship at 7:10. I have a big day today so I just grabbed two double espressos from the Studio Lounge and I’m heading out. I have a Fenway Park tour booked and I’m going to try to cover the entire Freedom Trail on my own.

Here is today’s Freestyle Daily.

The Trolley is a popular option here. This is the line for tickets.

This is where the Boston tea party took place.

We are coming up on Boston Common which is the first stop on the Freedom Trail. For my full coverage of every site on Freedom Trail, please check out Freedom Trail in Boston.

I took a break from the Freedom Trail to grab a snack. Across the street from the Old City Hall is where I can get one of the famous Boston Cream Pies.
The Parker House Hotel, now Omni Parker House, is where the Boston Creme Pie was invented by French chef Augustine Francois Anezin in 1856.

As it began to approach my Fenway Park Tour time, I left the Freedom Trail and took a Lyft from the Boston Massacre site to Fenway Park.

It was an $11 Lyft. This is where I was dropped off.

I have some time so I walked the perimeter of Fenway Park.

There are a couple concession stands open across the street. Maybe I can get a taste of the ballpark even though I’m not going to be at a game.

I went with an Italian sausage and peppers.

For full coverage of the tour please check out Fenway Park Tour.

The reason the field looks like that is The Who is playing here tonight.

I took an Uber here but I’m going to take the subway to get back on the Freedom Trail.

That was a $2.40 subway ride.

This is City Hall.

I’m going to take a peek in Bell in the Hand Tavern which is the oldest tavern in America.

It looks pretty modern inside.

After that I got back on the Freedom Trail.

I am taking a break from the Freedom Trail to eat again.

Let’s check out Quincy Market.

I got clam chowder and a lobster roll.

I’m taking another break from the Freedom trail to eat again.
Mike’s Pastry is famous for their cannoli. It’s cash only. Fortunately I brought some.

I’m really not hungry yet so I just got it to go. I’ll eat it later.

I had to stop at the Sam Adams tap room while I’m here.

This is a coffee stout.

I’m leaving Sam Adams to finish Freedom Trail.

I’m actually leaving the North End now.

TD Garden where the Celtics and Bruins play.

I’m getting on to my last two stops of the Freedom Trail then I’m heading back to the ship.

I just finished up the Freedom Trail with Bunker Hill and the USS Constitution. I ordered a Lyft to take me back to the ship.

The Lyft driver was asking about my day. He said I did more in one day than anyone he’s met here. He said the only thing he would change is get the chowder from the chowder place and the lobster from the Maine lobster place in the same building instead of getting them both from the chowder place.

They would not let me take the cannoli on the ship. I thought I would be okay with it because someone in the Facebook group said they were able to bring three of Tom Thumb donuts on the ship the last time they were in Halifax.
I had to eat it on the gangway.

After showering and changing I grabbed a screwdriver from at Spice H2O.

The ship is really close to the airport so you can watch planes land and takeoff while you’re here.

We have a sunset sail away from Boston.

After sail away I grabbed a dirty martini at the Sunset Bar.

Then I switched to Boston Lager at O’Sheehan’s.

I ended up with a really good seat at Broadway Cabaret: Rock Edition.

Then I grabbed another Sam Adams at O’Sheehan’s.

I wasn’t hungry at dinner time after all of the eating I did throughout the day. But I grabbed a late night snack at O’Sheehan’s before going to bed.
Pretzel bites

Buffalo wings

I’m off to bed. Tomorrow we’re in Bar Harbor, Maine.
